📏 Around Town Progress 📐

| The Visual Catalog (first half) is finished! I am so proud of how well polished this is coming out. 😍 It is eye candy for sure. But I know why most of you buy the book: Instructions. That process has started (for ~300 designs), and I’m on page 80. As promised to newsletter subscribers, here’s a sneak peek of a couple of models from one of our vendor partners, StudBee.com. They have some neat custom-printed tiles. Check ’em out. |

A Personal Update
Six months ago, I was laid off. That gave me plenty of time to work on the next book (or so I thought). What actually happened was a lot of job hunting, shuttling kids, and more self-imposed stress with very little progress on the next book. I don’t wish this curse upon anyone in this current job market. My heart goes out to anyone in that condition right now – I get it; it is exhausting. FWIW, there is hope. I have accepted an offer for a position that I start in about 2 weeks. It is possible – don’t give up. Lean on your support networks. People will help you. You got this.
On top of that good news, we just passed 5,000 books sold of Room By Room!
💥🎉✨🎊🎈
Locking down a job has now actually given me some time to make a lot of progress on book #2. Find that silver lining. Good things will come to you.
Positive vibes. 💓
Cover Concept Art

I’m a little bit embarrassed to share this, but hey, you wanted a BTS look, right? I drew this in like 2 mins, so please don’t judge; it’s sloppy as hell! Here’s some concept art for Around Town. Yes, there’s even an ink stain on it. ✒ The cover will feature a “Modular Neighborhood” street with lots of details from the book and a blue sky similar to the first book. The back will feature a “back alley” with more details from the book, maybe some graffiti, trash – who knows? I’m excited to finally put a face to all the cool ideas in this book. 💡 📓

Waitin’ for the Bus
I envision waiting for Around Town to come out must be like waiting for a bus. You never really know when it’ll show up! So, I made a little graphic to at least guide us on the route it’ll take. I hope you enjoy watching its progress as much as I do. And in case you’re wondering, I’m measuring the back of the bus crossing the “STOP” line as making it to “Publish St.”! 😅
